The very first photograph in history though produced by a different method was likely captured in 1826, exactly two hundred years ago. In tribute to that bicentennial, I created this self-portrait: for me, it represents a genuine first in terms of genre.

Well done! How'd you accomplish it?

Hello, Andrew, thank you, I was seated on the bathroom floor, with the tablet placed on the floor; I raised my legs and took a self-portrait

The first self portrait that I am aware of was made in 1839, by Robert Cornelius. I am relieved that he didn't pose himself like you!

thank you, had never seen it before and I was not familiar with this image. I am very interested in the history of photography, especially the early experiments. It is not like mine, no

Well, it would have been very tricky for Mr. Cornelius to pose himself that way, and then be able to trip the shutter on his home made obscura box, fitted with a lens salvaged from an opera glass. He couldn't see what he was doing, nor was there a delete button!

yes, I use a self-portrait taken with a timer; he could not do that. Still, it is very interesting, and I had never seen it before
