My first Daguerreotype

Just wanted to share. This is a 1/4 plate daguerreotype that I found at a local estate sale. Sadly, at some point in time someone had the wisdom to actually clean the surface of the plate. Obviously a mistake, amazingly the image survives.

Advice for budding collectors . . . please don't clean your daguerreotypes with a Brillo pad and scouring powder.
