Lightroom is really good for Asset management, I used it for a while, but in studio I work tethered, so tried and liked Capture One, which is better for that at the expense of asset management from a library management point of view. I use it in “Session mode” and just create a new directory for each session using a standardized naming scheme for the directories. If you are managing a lot of images, Both Lightroom and C1 can ultimately corrupt the image database which means a bunch of NRE work to get everything reorganized. I’ve had that happen with both systems.
my software tools in house are
Capture One 2021
Adobe Photoshop 2020
Adobe Illustrator 2020 (Vector graphics for layout and typography)
Nik Collection
on line, I am a very happy shootproof customer for proof galleries, fulfillment and workflow. However, C1 doesn’t integrate well directly with my fulfillment printers, so
Shootproof
Dale Labs ROES
BRI ROES
and yeah, for what social media stuff I do, I just use whatever that platform offers natively. A better syndication tool that would allow me to up once across platforms would be great and Rush might be just the thing, but haven’t had the free time to explore it.
