Very nice.
The first one is perfect, or as perfect as possible from what I assume is a reasonably straight scan of the negative. Her face has a perfect amount of density, her hair is nice and dark, but still detailed enough to see individual strands. The light falling onto her face is unbelievably good, studio light doesn't get better than that.
I think the second one needs to be darker, or, if I was in a darkroom, burnt in a bit; then it would be as good as the first one. The dress graphics on the first one have a density that is about right, all of the other tones fall into place. In the second one the dress graphic tones are too light and therefore her face is competing with the light coloured tones of her clothing. At the same time the light coloured tree bark is also competing with her expression. If I was in the darkroom I would guess that the light coloured areas need to be given an extra bit of exposure and maybe just a tiny fraction more contrast. Although, if it was made darker, then perhaps the contrast would look slightly more contrasty anyway; if you know what I mean.
Apart from that, your usual excellent standard. I love looking at your work as it is usually straight to the point and uncluttered, as for that herd of elephants shot not that long ago, that could be a commercial success, if that is your thing.
