Hi all

Just thought I’d mention that yesterday was the first portrait shoot i have done were i did not take my digital camera. Rather than film playing second fiddle i felt confident enough to just shoot film. I think using a medium format film camera is improving my photography. It’s only when i did this shoot that i realised how detached and disempowered i feel when using my digital camera. It’s like a level of intimacy and attention between my subject and myself had been stripped out and i just can’t feel it properly.

Im not saying that film is better, its more that it brings out the best in me.

Thanks guys. If is great fun sometimes it is like it owns me. That sounds mental right?

Anyway I am not 100% happy with that shot (which was the best one) so will try and better it tomorrow.

Thanks all, just need to keep improving now! I am happy with the last shot, but is is boring and a bit nothing-y. Will see if I can better this tomorrow with my wife....?!

You are doing quite well. Keep using film and you will find a better use for digital cameras. I am told that they make excellent door stops, book ends and paper weights.
