Now another european studio-flash manufacturer (after the british Bowens) is to be liquidated.

Multiblitz, founded 1948, is one of Europe's pioneers in electronic flashes. Founder Dr. Mannesmann invented the Guide-Number.
Multiblitz was specialized smaller units, they included in their range very small units to be carried in a suitcase, thus Multiblitz flashes were the introduction of many west-german photographer into studio flash-lighting. In the 80s their flashes were most common in small portrait studios.

My very first studio lights were Multiblitz. Wonderful build quality and easy to use.
It's sad they have had to declare themselves bankrupt - they were a great lighting company.

Made Multiblitz something compatible to a Canon Speedlight? Maybe concerning the latter you mix up Multiblitz with Metz (who survived bancrupsy...)

All german reflectors I know of where propriatory. Graflexes were unknown here anyway.

Here already in the 30s 35mm and rollfilm cameras were used as press cameras.

I've allowed myself to photograph four (4) weddings since 1970, 2 with Graflex and 2 with Metz. Did a terrible job with all of them.
