No Loonie in the group - although there is a 50-cent coin - and some pennies which have not been in use for a long time, now - and some weird coin with a guy in a wig on it.

Film: Kodak VPS 160 developed in Kodak's C-41 chemistry
Exposure: Unfortunately unknown but I do know that the image was taken in the living room at my old place in Meadowbrook, Florence, MA.

Mom was outside getting some Vitamin D and using the cable release to fire off the shutter.

I really have to say "Boy do I look old!", haahaahaa! That is the smile of "Why am I doing this?"Look at all of those details. I blame the Hasselblad, lol. Oh well, at least the blues and the reds look decent.

Reminds me of the next town over from me. Buildings were fixed up. Some of them were made into loft apartments and the rest are businesses.

I'm always looking for change.

Hassleblad 501C with 80mm lens. Kentmere 100 rated at EI 64. Developed in Barry Thornton's D-23 with 20 grams per liter of metaborate for 4 minutes and 15 seconds at 70.7F/21.5C in both bath A and B. Kentmere VC Select Glossy paper developed in homebrew D-72 (Dektol) 1:3 in my old Cibachrome tube.

I had ordered two packages of Kentmere lustre paper and one of the packs was glossy. I really do like this glossy version of Kentmere. I will be getting more of it.

"Haymarket Cafe no more"

I had an earlier version of this Cafe in the Beauty of Decay assignment thread. I thought to include a slightly more recent version of the cafe here. This was taken on the same roll as the others that I posted for this assignment. I had a lot of good memories at this cafe. Hamp isn't what it used to be and it saddens me.

This is a Photinia Robusta plant in our backyard, taken 11/09/2024.

Every year as spring happens the backyard offers up some wonderful photographic opportunities. It's been a very wet year so things are a little down on previous years, but this little plant gave us one flower; this is it coming into spring with some flower power.

Bob, so you've owned that Hasselblad and lens for around 28/9 years, pretty good choice all those years ago.

As to looking old, well I have over a quarter of a century on you. My avatar is now some years old........

Hey Mick, I really like how the flower pops from the background and the lighting on the Aloe Vera plant, creating extra depth.

The Haymarket cafe closed due to failure of renewing licenses and permits. The owner was also going through financial troubles. He had hit some kind of a slump and even had a Gofundme page Cafe opened in 1991. It was my go-to place. A cup of coffee back in 91 was 25 cents, refills were a dime! I would stay there all night with coffee and a smoke and plan on what I was going to shoot, develop and print later on. Back when you could smoke in a cafe, just about anywhere. Haymarket played old time music and was wall-to-wall shelving loaded with books all over the place. Haymarket started out as being on the lower floor. To gain entry you had to go down the alleyway off from Main street toward the back of the Building. Many years later they built in the top floor that connected out to Main street.

During the mid 90's there was another cafe called Fire and Water; a much smaller cafe that had a tiny performance area. It was right across the street from the Haymarket. Local bands performed and poetry sessions had frequently taken place there. They made the best peanut noodles dish. I remember on one of my birthdays the owner made up a dish for me free of charge and one of the customers that sat beside me, who looked like Marilyn Monroe, sang "Happy Birthday Mr. President" to me, lol. Sadly the Fire and Water closed down around 2003.

At Hallmark you had two options for camera purchases: Hasselblad or Mamiya. Most students chose the Hasselblad. One student had a Pentax 67. The president of Hallmark was in contact with Skip Cohen who was the president of Hasselblad back then.

Boy, what memories!

My American friend let me educate you... The one dollar coin with the loon on it is affectionately called, a loonie. The two dollar coin is called...wait for it... a toonie... We no longer have the penny... and to my knowledge, the only pesos up here are the ones forgotten in the pockets of Snow Birds (referring to the Boomers who spend Winters down in Mehico, and not our RCAF precision flying team).

Hallmark Institute of Photography School. It was located up in Turners Fall, Massachusetts. Hallmark was very intensive. Business was high priority in the curriculum.

The school hosted many great guest speakers. Denis Reggie was a guest speaker at my graduation ceremony in 1997.

I just use my credit card when I go up north. That way I don’t end up with loonies or toonies when I get back. They don’t like it when you try to pass that stuff off as money down here. By the way, I love going up there.

What About Bob, thanks for that. I did do a search for universities, then some other things, but couldn't geta definitive answer. Perhaps the Australianised version of answers wouldn't or couldn't show it.

Looks as though it was interesting and with (according to the article you directed me to) only 72 students, it would seem the student to teacher ratio was pretty good for the student.

This has been great seeing all the interpretations of “Changes”, tire change, neighborhood changes, personal changes, pocket change, etc. Since I have to choose one I’m going to go with Jeffreyg, it represents change in many ways, diaper change, life change, you could even say the tide is changing. Thanks everyone for your great contributions!

Thank you for selecting my image. Since that image was made there certainly have been changes. The "changor" and I have been married for 61years and the "changee" is a practicing attorney with four children of his own with the eldest a junior premed college student.
