Ok, I kind of struggled coming up with a topic and have chosen “Water” as the March topic simply because as I considered topics this is the one I kept coming back to. Maybe because of all the winter weather, or the fact that we’ll be moving this summer from San Francisco to Flagstaff Az which is much drier. So let’s see your photographs of water in all its many forms.

Roger

Here are a few examples.

And an OLD submission, from the last time we used "Water" as a theme (in 2009 ):

Thanks for the new theme! Canon Ixus camera, Kodak 200 Advantis film. In support of APS cameras. Marmaris, Turkey. Summer 2021. Coronacrisis. In fact, those were very happy times. We just didn't know about it back then.

Old, taken in 2009

Shelley Beach, Kilcunda, although there isn't too much beach at this end of the beach. When there is a big storm in Antarctica, some time later the swell from those storms hit the bottom of Australia and the results are sometimes astounding. This place is right at the edge of the roaring 40's and the winds are fantastic and generally constant.

Wonderful day.

Here's some solid water - I shovelled a mountain of the stuff this morning. This one is old, though - 4 years old, Leica IIIC, some kind of film, some lens or other.

Toorong River, sort of a classic large format picture.

First time I can remember using rear shift (sideways shift of the rear standard) for a landscape.

New!

PS: Dang it...evidently, contrast is lost when I resize the image for posting.

New, shot for this month's assignment. Half melted trodden snow and ice. Nikon slr (what's it matter?), Efke KB14. This film was so fogged, I had to use farmer's reducer then bleach and redevelop it to get it light enough to gain contrast. This is a scan of a 5x7 print on Agfa rc paper.

Don, that melted then frozen snow is my nightmare whenever I visited Germany in Winter. Living in a relatively warm country, spiked shoes or boots is not something one happens to have handy.

I really like this for the terrible memories I have of this type of terrain in the dark recesses of my mind.

I have that terrain in the open of my actual world....
