In the northern hemisphere, were all going into winter, and the lighted day and brightness is becoming less. In fact in some areas, one may not see the sun for days or weeks at a time, during this time of year.
For the southern hemisphere its just the opposite, getting lighter, brighter and warmer.
Nonetheless, would like to make the theme for this Monthly Shooting Assignment: "Gentle Low Slow Light .."

For those with brightness in their sky's nonetheless; (as we will still have here in the southwest), maybe early dawn, or sunset twilight's shots to catch the mood of the day. Or perhaps, under the shadowed canopy of foliage and shade cast by coverings or buildings and landscapes.
For others, mists and clouds running thru the sky, or dimly lit candle lighted interior portraits of people places and things. Or maybe long exposed night shots of the landscape, lighted street scenes disappearing into the darkness of hidden dreams, could run well with this theme.
Be creative, try to catch the mood of a slower, quiescent, quiet light.
Let your images show the flow and glow and of the gentle light, mixed with the shadows of this time of year in what ever light you may have inside or out.
Hahaa, have fun, and let it flow.

Really interesting idea Peter. I'm looking forward to the submissions.

Mamiya RZ67, 110mm f2.8, Kodak Portra 400. Twilight in Georgetown, as a cyclist speeds through the intersection and the sky glows its last glow and the incandescent street lamps flicker to life.

Here's an example a shot taken under the shadowed canopy of foliage.

Good time to experiment on something new!
Ha,.. Very, very rarely have pushed film in processing. So thought we give it a try. Normally shoot Arista 400 @ 200. But here in early morning light, couple of days ago, if we had shot this Agave, at f11, @ 200asa, it would have to have been at a 10th of second. Diliberatly didn't bring the tripod, so shot it at f11@100, and pushed developed it to 800, in D-76 1:1 at 75* for 11min.and 45sec. Agitated it first 30 sec and then one inversion every 30 sec. Beginners luck, came out quite well we thought.

Another Example: Cleaning up desk and came across this 9x12cm image that had shot at beginning of the year..
Candle Light: Zeiss Adora 9x12cm folder, beautiful wooden case, just a lovely camera but not used much as the camera is so small, and much different to focus than a Speed, or RB67! Requires a whole different routine. We pick it up and .. ah .. where to grasp! Its so light! So small, ... were in training again. Yikes!
HP5+ @400 f16@17.5 sec in solution of D76 1:1 @70* for 10min

I made an accidental one last weekend. I was at the beach and there was beautiful soft light on the water... as I was leaving, I snapped a photo just to remember what the reflections of the clouds looked like... I didn't try to make good composition or anything, it really was just to print later and see the tones, and remind my future self to pay attention. Then when I was driving home, I realized that I'd made the photograph exactly because of this MSA-light! Wish I'd thought of it while I was there, I would have tried to make a good photo instead of a quick snap. I doubt I'll develop that roll before this MSA is over, but I am planning to try something!

Ohhhh... gonna have to try that!
We don't have an ocean beach, but we do have a creek, and maybe we can get some reflection off the water with the spires from the red rocks, at sunset. Thanks for the challenge.

The sun was low - shining through the stained-glass-windows of Münster Cathedral.
Shot this one with the Rolleiflex 3.5F (f/5.6 - 1/15 sec - hand-held - the image is slightly blurred).

Hope this one will fit the theme ...

And entry #2-

full

The interior of the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, looking straight up. Hand-held with a Mamiya RZ67, 50mm f4.5 lens, 1/15th of a second @ f4.5 on Kodak Ektar 100 (it was the only color emulsion I brought with me on that trip, as A: the faster color films are more expensive, and B: I wasn't anticipating shooting any interior color work).

Oh WOW.. three great entries..
Wilmar.. the white parking lines taking you right into the eyes of the 'Reading Dinner'
Macfred.. yes it fits the theme, and well done hand held for 15th of a sec. Take it that it was a morning shot?
FlyingCamera.. what a great shot of, .. to me, unusual domes. Had to look it upon the internet to see how they appear architecturally.

One of the things that I miss since moving south is the absence of twilight. I remember as a child being told that I could stay outside until it got dark. During the summer this was a long, long time.

Yes - not to add this to the MSA submission, as it's not low or slow light, but here's my exterior shot where you can see the domes:

11/25/17- Late afternoon light filtered into the room through a side window. My dog’s expression suggests that he was likely a little tired of the camera lenses being in his face, but he held a steady pose nonetheless.

November, as usual here on the west coast, has been pretty grey. The news media tells us we had 24 rainy days in a row in November. It didn't rain all day, every day; so I did get out a few times with cameras. A handful more negs to develop, then I'll see what's printable.

Winter is my favourite time to photograph in the woods. I love the dim green light of our temperate rain forest.

Ah we have some new entries.. how exciting.
russljames: ya got a woofer, that's kind and seine and gentle in its light. Don't know how close you were, but my old dog would have tried to lick the lens, if we were within three feet of em, never could understand why.

sly: ur mossy arch looks like its reaching out. My goodness, you state it was seconds, not minutes for the exposure. Done with a Crown Graphic., .. 4x5 or MF,? And the lens? Here in northern az a low light shot like this, would be have to be taken in the night, somewhere deep in the Oak creek canyon where moss grows.

Peter - Crown Graphic is a 4x5, with a Schneider 135mm lens. Not hard to find moss (and liverwort which is commonly assumed to be moss) on our island. There's a few more mossy shots. I'll scan whatever I'm happy with when I get them printed.

Here's another mossy photo. Same day, a few meters away from the previous one.

Since it's been getting dark here so early I've been doing more night photography. Just waiting for some good snow to hit so I can go out and do some more. Also because of work schedules I haven't been able to get in the darkroom except to develop film so I hope a negative scan is alright. If not then I apologize. Once printed I plan to upload some more of the night shots I've done over the last 2 weeks.
