Ok folks- here's the theme. Go out and make some compositions that take full advantage of geometry. I want to see strong graphic images with use of lines, shapes, bold shadows and bright highlights. You can get abstract, like:

Or you can be more literal, like Ruth Bernhard:

NOTE: THE USE OF COLOR IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED!

Great subject Scott! I love these types of graphic images, but am not good at making them myself. Hopefully this round will push me to go out and try some.

Oh my.. what a challenge.. for a guy who likes to do landscapes.. change of scene or change of mental concept?

Thus will be Great.. become an adjective: to an extent, an amount, or intensity considerably above the normal or average.
Heeehaw... AKA To go boldly, beyond, where one has gone before with angles and dangles.

Relax: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)did not specify what kind of "geometry" therefore you can shot non-Euclidean geometry with intersecting curves, ellipses, parabolas etc... all abundant in nature :D

For anyone new to this, here is a link to the MSA guidelines: (there was a url link here which no longer exists).

I'll ask the moderators to make this a "Sticky" and, if possible, add the link to Scott's initial post.

Does this apply?
Well this shot is not within the time limits as it was shot mid October, and finally developed the other day after the last shot, of ten, was shot at beginning of month. But then I usually only shoot color in spring. Sooooo what ... thought it fit the bill for a non-Euclidean geometry landscape quiz.

This is a terrible theme - for me ... and thus encouraging. I'll give it a serious try. Stepping outside my comfort zone, etc.

So "Geometrical colours" it is then!

An effort..

#3.1 -Sepia- Wheels @ SunSilverWest .jpg
We don't have tall buildings here...
Shot with a Brownie 3a converted to 120 film, and Sepia toned.
Get 5 shots on a roll.. suppose to be 5.5" wide.. but don't have the turn ratio down yet.. (have to count your advance, as you wind..) This image got cropped by the one after and the one before and lost about an inch and a half on it.
Such a small .. whatever you call it, to compose your shot with.
Makes great panoramas.

How about this... its hard to get the angles and dangles to reference against that something else...

A little bit of geometry in a parasol

A little bit of geometry in a parasol, I've taken this week at Castle Loevestein.
