Found this Raleigh gentlemans club bicycle (Reynolds 531 butted tube set) at the bulky trash - I did a complete 'CLA' -
it's a pleasure to ride !

I was dying for one when I was a child.

Overhead water tank -
remains from a blast fumace complex - some people like this as a monument of industrial heritage, others would like to demolish the whole area …

Now that I notice this MSA with the photo by my "neighbour" in the Ruhr area, I see that my photo "Discarded Big Friend" fits too nicely in this MSA to be left in the Standard Gallery...

Bingo ! Really like the shot - hope the furry guy got a new home ...

So we're in the home stretch for this MSA; less than 2 weeks to go. Keep those well thought out images coming...this one's going to be tough!

The tulips are grown for the bulbs and will soon be cut off and thrown away.
Until then, they are jewelry and a nice place for shooting images.

My "one man's trash" project won't be finished in time... each one is a color print + a pinhole paper positive, and I didn't send my C-41 in for processing yet.
Now I'm thinking I'll try to finish the pinholes on Sunday ( WPPD! ) and just try to get the color film developed before the end of May. If they come out any good I'll post here anyway.

Last day for entries in this MSA! I hope to judge and have results up by tomorrow afternoon. Good luck!

A last minute entry.
From below the causeway bridge leading into the south end of the Massey tunnel.
A beach chair in an interesting location.
I give this the title: "One Troll's Trash".

Friends, had a last second schedule change today. I doubt I'll get to finalize my review until late today, possibly early tomorrow morning. Sorry about that.

Wow! That was definitely a challenging contest to judge. I hope everyone enjoyed it. I just had a few brief comments about the submissions to share, and then the announcement of the winner:

@awty – I like Paul’s fishing lures printed with Van Dyke brown process, but not sure I understand how they fit this theme. Nonetheless, great work!

@Bertus – Many great submissions. The shot of the Linhof Technica works well by itself, but the potato lightbox is excellent. I also like the apple tree pruned branches. The beech wood “watermark-illness” is truly a treasure. Both shots of the Tulips for Bulbs are great, great use of light, great composition, and how can you go wrong with a beautiful lady in a photo.

@macfred – I like everything about the photograph of the abandoned and refurbished bicycle. The contrast and composition are very compelling. Great photo! The photo of the water tower is also well done.

@Heinz – I love this photograph of someone’s discarded teddy, “Discarded Big Friend”. Very representative of the theme, nice composition and an overall pleasing photograph.

@MattKing – Getting in just under the wire, Matt! Great shot. I really like the different lines and curves in this one. The perspective works well to focus the viewer on the chair. Well done!

@NedL – Ned, sorry you didn’t get your photo done in time. I think you may have been onto something with a boot and two empty energy drink cans (and a bag of peat moss in the background) . Happy planting!

Again, the decision was very difficult. I am very torn between @macfred's "Bicycle from the bulky trash" and @Heinz's "Discarded Big Friend". It isn't easy to be the decider in chief.

But, I'm going with @macfred's "Bicycle from the bulky trash" as the winner of this Monthly Shooting Assignment. Congratulations!!

Sorry I didn’t get anything ready for this one. MacFred, great work. I look forward to the new topic. Hope I’ll get my act together for the May-June topic.
