I currently have a Pentax 67II camera (which is currently getting repaired). Im wondering about buying the Pentax magnifier for it to mount on the viewfinder port. I currently have a rubber eye cup on the finder, but it looks like that cup will mount to the magnifier no problem. What Im wondering is the black screw ring that holds the eye cup, does that ring get reused to hold the magnifier in place? Or how else does the magnifier get mounted? I know the silver bracket on the magnifier has a little space in between, but not sure if its enough to reuse the black screw ring.

Edit: updated as the original was wrong.

I don't have mine handy, but from memory the magnifier is retained by removing the black ring and using it to attach the bracket of the magnifier to the view port. The eyecup should fit the end of the magnifier.

In use it's awkward to use but very effective magnifying the focus aids. It's designed to flip over the top of the prism when not in use, but it's free to swing down if you're not careful. It's also easy to poke yourself in the eye with it as it extends quite a way back from the camera.
