Mounting Large Prints

I would like to hear from anyone who mounts large (>30"x30") inkjet prints. I would like to mount them on thick-ish board so that they can be hung with just a thin metal frame around them. Not sure if I need to laminate (I use Ilford Gold Silk).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
