I just bought my first 4x5 camera and lens - a new ShenHao and a used 300mm f/9 Nikkor lens. How do you mount the lens to a lensboard? The retaining ring is loose enough to unscrew down to the flange, but how do I get separate the shutter from the lens? Thanks.

Hi, welcome. You'll have to unscrew the rear element put the lens board on then the retaining ring(best accomplished with a "lens mounting tool", or spanner wrench), then screw the rear elment back into place.
