mostly sentimental...

this weekend we were down at my inlaws and just before leaving my motherinlaw suggested I take a look at her fathers old cameras. He passed away in the 80's, I never met him but my son is named after him(he is a bit of a legend within the family) .
He has left behind about 6 or 7 brownies, a Spartus 116/616, polaroid auto 330 land camera, Imperial flash MarkXII , Ansco sure shot and then a few Kodaks. A 50th anniversary box,

What I would like to do is make some prints using some of these for my mother in law and my son (using his great granddads cameras and having his same name would mean so much) I think my MIL would really love to see these cameras used again, if only for a few images.

So, my question as I start researching is can I find a substitute for 116/118?film and I think I can respool 120 on to the 620 spools left in the cameras?

If anyone has any suggestions, references or anthing of the sort that may help me I would greatly appreciate it!

Check out filmforclassics.com. They apparently have limited availability of 116 film.

I cannot remember which school, but either the Rochester Institute of Technology or the University of Rochester has a wide variety of films in discontinued sized for sale. Contact the student union at both schools.

There are spools in mostly all so will try to re roll some 120 and see what kind of prices for the 116. Should probably pick two cameras to work with first and see what I get.
Now the #3 folding pocket kodak takes 118 film which I don't think I will find any or any $$ reasonable substitute. Any thoughts?

The 50th anniversary kodak was gifted to children born in that same year in hope to get some more loyal kodak users, fun stuff I am learning!

He collects and uses old cameras and posts the results online. He also develops film found in old cameras posts those as well. His commentary is always good for a smile.

For 116 and 118, you can try making some spacers and a modified take-up spool and use 120 film.

I'm doing this for a Kodak 2C, which originally took 130 film. I now get 50x125mm images:
