Well, right now it's the Xmas shopping time, so why not? But after March 07, in the Japanese market, several products from Fuji and a Kodak slide film its processing service will be gone. We've heard about the news so early that we almost forget when they will actually start to go.
What's positive is that we've been creating and maintaining this film-based photography community as an international network, so that ideally no film-photographer will be left behind.
The Positive side is that we are learning how to adapt to being a niche market and using the web as a means of maintaining (and often, enhancing) our access to film and related gear.
The Negative side is that we still seem to think that a "funeral" of remorse needs to be expressed every time an old camera store (which we understandably, loved) has shut down.
We're a niche market now. If we build on that then we'll be okay.
