Hi

just in case anyone ever searches here for information about these things I thought I'd put it down here that I've playing around more with my new {to me} Bessa I've found that the lens sharpness of the Vaskar with black and white film is quite good.

Well executed shots (focus / exposure / steadiness) seem to be about as good as a full frame DSLR (for want of some reproducible standard), if not slightly superior.

The camera seems to have in its favour light weight and low cost.

On the other side of the scale we have challenges in things like limited useful f-stop range, no partial f-stop marks and finding range for focus.

My opinion is that anyone seeking a camera like this as an entry into 6x9 photography will find it rewarding, but if you're not the collecting type then if you are considering the Bessa II then with prices as they are perhaps the Fuji GW or GSW690 will be better value for money.

Details on my blog (address in my signature, and if its not on the front pages, search on bessa).
