It had to go to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for common sense to finally prevail. Of course, Congress could always step in and extend the definition of copyright holders to include animals.

which is what they should do! and have it include AI and BOTS, and non-human intervention DRONES
and all sorts of 21st century things. im glad PETA stepped in!

I am glad the Ninth Circuit Court made this decision. I have lost so much sleep about this problem. Why? Because if I set up a camera to take photographs tripped by a trip wire, movement or IR some wild animal or neighbor's cat could have sued me for not having a signed release. Now I have some sleep to catch up!:sleeping::sleeping::sleeping::sleeping::sleeping::sleeping::sleeping:

The fallacy of the situation was who gave the right to PETA to sue. Did the monkey sign an agreement with PETA for them to represent him in the court?

With PETA involved, the monkey is just happy to still be alive.
