Established as a principality in the mid-14th century, the small medieval state of Moldova is best known for its fierce resistance against the Mongols and Turks, up until the 17th century. For the better part of its 350 years of almost continuous war, devastation, rebuild, and more war, Moldova was a sort of a bulwark against the Ottoman advance towards the Central and Western Europe. This land has seen so much war to last it a thousand years; and one of the main tools it employed to resist and retain its roots was the faith in the Orthodox Church. It was its main shield against invaders, a shield which protected the people and their ancestry.​

Thank you, interesting place! Very challenging lighting conditions for HR-50, perhaps a different film would be better suited...

Indeed, I kind of regretted bringing this 50 film with me. But then again, how is one to know ahead of time what the weather would be :smile: ?

Do you like this film, and if yes, what for and when do you use it, please?

Was just reading about Prince Vlad III (aka Vlad Dracul, Vlad the Impaler) who was Voivode of Wallachia in the mid-15th century -- his principality stood in much the same position as Moldova (further south in what's now Romania), but didn't remain independent as Moldova did. His land is more familiar to Americans, though, because of Bram Stoker...
