Modify focusing scale on Super Graphic?

I want to use my 150mm lens with my Super Graphic, but I only have the 135mm cam. I'll probably break down and either purchase or try to fabricate one, but in the mean time does anyone know if it would work just to change the focusing scale? I was thinking about cutting a piece of tape to fit over the old focusing scale, and then using the GG to determin the new focusing scale, and write it in on the tape. Does this make any sense?

A scale for 150 mm needs to be longer than for 135. The accurate way would be to leave the 135 scale and fit/make another scale and pointer for 150 mm, making sure that these line up for infinity when the 135 scale/pointer do. The focus with the rangefinder and transfer the distance setting from the 135 scale to the 150.

I went outside and reset the focus stops so they matched the reading for infinity on the scale, and then adjusted the focus at the other end of the scale for minimum distance (as far as the scale was concerned). On the 135mm scale it was 3.5', and with the 150mm lens it was 4.5'. Then I focused at the distances I wanted to mark. I tried it out with some Polaroid, and was pleasantly surprised to have really good luck getting properly focused even at close distances like 6' and 4.5'. I'm psyched. Now I just need a 10 lb. barbell to start working out my left wrist.

The Super is such a nice camera. I'm sorry I sold mine.

Get a hold of Fred Lustig out in Reno NV, his telephone and address can be gotten thru graflex.org, and he'll probably have a cam for a 150. There's also a link to a thread on all the cams available for the lenses of the day. (You'll have to search it). There were multiples for many in the same focal length becasue of backset differences.
