I have had a set of the Elinchrom EL monoblock's for years now and they have been a great little set of lights.
Now looking to ad to them so the options are find some used Elinchrom Els or go with the new range. Now I have to say after having a touchy feely of the new ones, BXR's and the style models I am seriously dissapointed with the amount of plastics used and the overall finish, for example the casings don't seem to mate very well where they join ( even the more expensive style models ) and the I'm not very fond of the new membrane type buttons, I much prefer the manual controls on my Els and the metal casings. Elinchrom with all their plastic are making me consider selling up and switching to Bowens, much nicer looking set of controls on their monoblocks!
So what are peoples experience of the new style models?
