Misfolded bellows

So I recently acquired a Toyo AII 4x5 that has slightly misfolded bellows. Trying to massage them into the correct folding doesn't seem to work.

The camera is well-used, but in very good shape. The bellows feel almost like new. Very pliant and flexible, and otherwise clean.

My questions are:
[1] Am I correct in assuming this will eventually result in damage to the bellows that will produce holes?

[2] Is there a method of correcting it that works?

[3] How easy is it to install replacement bellows with frames, ie. can I do it myself?

[4] If so, is it worth ordering replacement bellows/frames now in anticipation of the day when they won't be available?

It sounds like you have a cosmetic issue--not a functional problem. Unless the camera won't fold and close or the bellows intrude into the image path, there's little reason to buy a new bellows. There are a number of fine bellows makers, so if and when you need new bellows, you'll be able to get them. A small amount of misfolding isn't likely to cause holes, but if you want to try correcting the issue, you could remove them, fold them correctly, and keep them folded and compressed for an extended period. Honestly, if your camera folds without an issue, I'd just forget about it.

I had a similar issue on a field camera, wouldn't close properly. I solved the problem by carefully applying black photo tape (looks like black masking tape) and a few pieces of thin cardboard to act as stiffeners.

The camera folds fine, and doesn't appear to press against the bellows. Nor does it intrude into the image area.

I haven't tried any disassembly yet. Anyone have an idea how easy it is to remove the bellows and attached frames? I couldn't find an online manual.

I replaced the bellows on my AII a couple of years ago after serious light leaks. I ordered the new bellows directly from Toyo in Japan and changed it my self.
It showed that the bellows is glued to the camera and can't be taken off without distroying it. Don't mend it went it isn't broke...

Use a blow dryer on "medium" to warm the bellows. Fold bellows closed in correct orientation. Allow to cool. Repeat at higher heat if necessary.
