First things first, I want all my cameras to be in perfect condition, therefore I would send them to MiNT occationally for overhaul.

I sent a alpha 1 to MiNT factory space for overhaul, after a few weeks, I recived the "repaird" camera, but I found a hair inside the lens which previously didnt exist (attached pic 1). I didn't take it too seriously, I mean, this is not Kanto level of service and humans make mistakes.

I contacted MiNT factory about this, and they said to sent it back to them again. But they are unable to reimburst me for my extra shipping cost.

To minimise my sunk cost, I have another alpha 1 which can be due for overhal. so this time, i sent two alpha1 to MiNT:
1. FIRST ONE: for removing the hair
2. SECOND ONE: for overhaul (including roller replacement)

After a few weeks, I received my package and found:
1. FIRST ONE: the hair is STILL in the lens (attached pic 2)
2. SECOND ONE: the roller did NOT get replaced at all (attached pic 6/7/8/9)

I have since then contacted MiNT factory about these matter, and their response is attached in pic 3/4/5. Please see it for yourselves, its just totally bs.

Last but not least, I've managed to remove the hair on the first camera by myself, which proves MiNT even more incappable of what they do.

Don't you have consumer laws in Australia?

The fact that you have to pay for having their mistake fixed -even as additional shipping - is ridiculous.
Where I live I make an official complaint to the consumer authorities. I may have to pay a €35 fee, but it is reimbursed when they offender either resolve the issue or I win the claim.
It may take 3-6 month if the offender is stubborn, which is tedious, but if they take it that far, they typically get severely fined and officially shamed - and I feel a little better for the trouble.

If you know your rights, you'll always win.

Luckily I have only had to do this 5-6 times in my adult life.

Interesting that the lens came back to you with the hair in it. Their first note telling the work they will perform is to replace the lens.

Curiouser
The first camera is to clean the lens and not replace the lens, the second is to replace the lens, what you see is the repair list of the second camera

I usually use PayPal for online transactions, they can protect my rights to the greatest extent, but MINT can only use credit cards, we have consumption laws, but usually for local consumption, I decided to process my case by credit card

File a dispute. They will temporarily remove the charge. Then they send a letter/message to MiNT for a response. They may come back to you for more information. If the decide in your favor the charge removal becomes permanent; otherwise they will put the charge back on your card. I have never had the latter occur. YMMV

This is ridiculous, receiving the package from MiNT and finding NEITHER of the two cameras has been repaired. But my experiences with them were rather satisfying... What happed to them?
