Minox EC Film Advance

What could be the cause (and fix) of film advancing unevenly in a Minox EC? Most of my images overlap, so the film isn't advancing far enough.

I’m only familiar with earlier chrome minox. I’m assuming the frame counter resets itself (not like earlier cameras). Earlier cameras need to be set to 0 when loading film to get the proper frame spacing. If your loading your own film, it may be loaded in cassette too tightly (film too wide or loading too many exposures). Give the film a little tug at the beginning of the roll to make sure it comes out freely - then cut it and tape to take up spool and load as usual. If it’s only in the beginning of the roll, try loading less exposures of film. Otherwise, I’m afraid the camera is damaged and requires repair or replacement. Good luck.

I agree with Getz -- there are several possible reasons -- but I'm not an EC user either. Strictly IIIS. There are a lot of Minox users over in the SUBCLUB that might be of some help. You will find them in the COFFEE SHOP.

Overlapping may be caused by some issues with the cassette and the film rolled in, as it was already discussed here. However, the thickness of the film is another thing which may be the reason. Do you do your own cutting of the film? If so, what film is this you are having issues with ?
