Minox 8x11 film cartridges

I just got a minox b in pretty good condition but I need some film cartridges which seem hard to come by. I have access to a 3D printer, but I can't find any good images on the internet of the exact sizes of each of the parts. If anyone has some cartridges that they could take pictures of with a scale that would be very helpful! I can post the .stl files after if the project winds up working.

I also have a film slicer in the works to cut down 35mm film using a 3d printed base.

Well I have one here somewhere, but I don't think a photo with a scale will be adequate to reproduce one.They are a relatively complex structure with very thin walls -- the originals were rather thin blackened sheet brass. There is also the issue of light seals on it to deal with. I suggest spending the $20 each to buy at least one cartridge from Blue Moon (a sponsor here) so you can make direct detailed measurements. Expired film cartridges still show up on ePrey occasionally, often at wildly varying prices.

I have no experience or feel for how fine, detailed, and precise 3-D printing (as available to mere mortals) can get, but I wish you good luck with your project. I recently ran a purchased roll of Delta 100 through my Minox B just to try and see what it looked like with modern film. I've had the camera since the 1960s, but it has never captured my attention like I might have hoped when I bought it.

Thanks for the input, I have a roll on the way from blue moon already. I can't wait to run film through it--the pictures don't really do the camera justice. A few of my friends thought it was a weird fidget spinner. Yeah, it seems the used market is kind of crazy when it comes to trying to find film. Luckily the tolerances on 3d printing are actually getting really good. I 3d printed a lens board adapter that wound up working pretty well after changing some of the settings to infill properly.

As DW mentioned, the cassettes are really thin walled, so you may have an issue with that.

A 3d printed film slitter would be seriously welcome. If you could come up with a decent one of those, there is probably a market. I'd get one from you.

Let us know when you have the twin 9.2mm one done, and how much you would charge for it!

As a Minox user, it is my understanding that Minox cassettes are manufactured under extremely fine tolerances. So fine in fact that the more modern cameras can not use the older brass cassettes. As already suggested, buy a couple films from Blue Moon r expired from eBay. However, cassettes are extremely fragile so you should read instructions on how to open. Minox cassettes are more complex than they appear to be.
