Minor Variation in Kodak 400TX packageing.

I got a new batch of 400TX 135 today ( EM1841 EX 12/2016) and I noticed that the pack just says Made in USA, Eastman Kodak.

Previous batches have said Made in USA packaged in Mexico for Eastman Kodak.

Implication is that Kodak has pulled their finishing and packaging line back to the States?

Just something else for the Kodak watchers to look out for. (Collect the set)

A bit of old news Charles.
Kodak closed the packaging unit in Mexico sometime ago.
They also stopped producing Profoto XL 100 at the same time.
I know that Kodak is in bad terms, but if I was going to buy B&W film with just 2 years on the expiry date I would be worried that it isn't that fresh.
All Ilford/Kentmere film have over 4 years expiry dates. Normally over 3 years for Foma.
Now, I'm starting to understand why so many films in American freezers and so many films getting expired and being sold here.

All the Kodak products - including products that reflect recent changes in production - seem to have relatively near "best before" dates. Including all the recent "Made in Germany" chemicals.

Determining an expiration date is very subjective and dependent on several factors. The film producer makes a decision on how the film will be stored by the retailer and then by the user. In addition you really can't compare expiration dates among film manufactures as each has their own standard and their films are different.

The time on dealers shelves has changed over the years. I suspect that it is much longer now than in years gone by.

This came from Freestyle in California, via the two week round trip to Sweden method (Fed Ex international mail) - So I had hoped it would be fairly fresh. It was in the newer package than from the 400TX I got from B&H two months ago.
