Just got a Minolta XK and I found that the shutter speed scale on the right hand side in the viewfinder is too dark. Out in the sun I can barely see it. Indoor it's impossible to see. I don't think it's normal. Anyone has idea?

Odd, I have the same problem with my Minolta 9, others report the same, not sure about the XK, first report that I have seen.

The mirror in the viewfinder has moved out of place or fell off, its a simple fix. Take the top off the viewfinder and put the mirror back.

What head do you have on your XK? The original AE or the later (smaller) AE-S?

Thanks fstop! I don't where the mirror went but it's missing. I glue a piece of foil there and it's much better now.

Can't happen on the AE-S. Its common problem with the AE head, I have a few that have this problem, most of the time the mirror stays inside so you can retrieve it.
