Minolta XG2 Sticky MC aperture ring

Hey All!

So I'm a dingus and a while ago my beloved XG2 had an encounter with some olive oil, and now the Aperture indicator ring on the body is getting stuck. I can nudge it into position, but this is problem I'd really rather not have. I could get a new body for pennies, but this is my first analog camera, so you know the drill...

Does anyone have any advice on getting to the ring to clean it? It looks simple enough, but I haven't been able to find any free repair manuals and the only exploded diagram I can find is in French, and of an XG-M...

1st hit on a google search Minolta XG2 repair manual, the XG1 is likely very similar to the XG2.

se a drop or two of alcohol on the ring work it back & forth. It might take a couple of applications.

How do I get rid of this underline ???

Flushing the ring out with CRC QD Electrical Contact Cleaner http://www.homedepot.com/p/CRC-11-oz-QD-Electronic-Cleaner-05103/205021975 should work also.
It available at auto parts and hardware stores also.

In the formatting bar at the top of the post deselect the U, it looks gray selected, lighter gray deselected.
