I bought a Minolta XG1 a few months ago and it worked perfectly until now..
I hadn't used it in a few weeks and when I started using it today the shutter would fire each time I finished advancing the film. Is this an easy fix or would I have to send it in?

Sounds like the shutter release is shorting , The XG1 is an electronic shutter, I would recommend sending it in for repair. I had that camera way back , as well as the XG7 both nice but that electronic shutter can be a problem , also watch the take up roller, those tabs that hold the film are fragile, speaking from experience.
