Minolta SRT has SLOW speeds that are too FAST.

A while ago, I had a Minolta SRT101 with slow speeds that were too long. Someone on this board suggested taking the bottom off and lubing up the gears. That worked great.

Now I have the opposite problem. I have a different Minolta SRT101 where the SLOW speeds are are too FAST. They are fine from 1/1,000 down to 1/15, but all the slower speed stay at 1/15 -- or there about. So I tried the trick of lubing up the gears under the bottom cover -- but no change.

Anyone have any suggestions???

Sounds like the slow speed escapement needs to be cleaned.

I had to clean the same on a Nikon F2, but have never cleaned the one on a Minolta SRT.

Edit: One note. Interestingly enough, the position of the escapement on the F2 was as critical as it is on a leaf shutter camera. I scribed around the escapement before I removed it to get it back into the same place, but still had to fiddle a bit with it to get speeds closer to those listed on the shutter dial. Don't know if this applies, but I would scribe and measure from some point inside the camera body to get it back in the same general location.
