My latest question revolves around the following accessory for my minolta meter. I am trying to save some money on a spot meter and ran across this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/MINOLTA-SPOT-PR...549063827QQcategoryZ708QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Just curios if anyone has ever used one of these setups.

I already have the minolta meter and I guess what I am really wondering is, the reading that you would take off the gg is it really accurate? Also, the only other thing that to me anyway seems awkward about it is that just one more item to mess with under the darkcloth. As if I don't have enough problems with this LF learning curve anyway.

All opinions welcome

The link doesn't work, but is that the Booster II attachment? I have one of these. It's not that useful outdoors, because it's kind of awkward to shield the probe from stray light under bright conditions, particularly if there is any wind. Much easier to use a regular spot meter.

In the studio, it can be handy, though, and it can save some calculation for bellows factor, filters, and such, though those calculations aren't really that difficult. In fact, I normally just plug any filter factor into the ASA setting on my meter, and I have a table taped to the back of each of my cameras for converting magnification factor into exposure factor.

Try this for the listing.

Dead Link Removed

If that fails, the item number is 7549063827

"INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION:
1 Minolta Booster II
1 Spot-Probe Attachment
1 Film Plane Attachment
1 Eyepiece Attachment
1 Microscope/Telescope Attachment
1 Original Instruction Manual"

If you need what it does, its very useful. If you don't, it isn't.

I have a Minolta Flash Meter (the original one). The gadget on offer is an updated much improved version of the original's pin point receptor. Very, very useful for taking readings from the ground glass.
