This makes absolutely no sense at all. I think you should do a little research into lens design and construction. The vast majority of optics used in photography, including virtually all of those considered to be "excellent". have cemented groups of elements.
his is a flaw I pointed out but it seems like you die hard defend this, I even posted a video.
Yes sorry Minolta lens design and reparability is superior to a canon FD lenses. And people don't even try to DIY to repair a lens in any shape or form you can't you are not a technician. Minolta MD 50mm f1.7 lenses are so cheap just throw them away and buy a new one who cares. Show me how to separate the 2 lens elements without breaking it and we talk. And even if you successfully do so the FD lenses are easier to repair/clean. This is a flaw I pointed out but it seems like you die hard defend this, I even posted a video.
i'm dropping a x-700 and SRT-201 at Englewood Camera today for overhaul. Hopefully to get the SRT updated to modern battery too. That is, if Dave the repairman is in the mood for doing it.
Ugh. Failure. Englewood have quit accepting cameras for their longtime guy because his turnaround times have gotten so long that they tired of dealing with disappointed customers. In the past he has kept a repair camera along with a parts camera of mine for quite a while and then just said he didn't have time for it. Now I gotta find someone else.

You’ll be able to do some insane compression with this if you can get the space. Almost orthographic projection like. And giant moon shots.80cm F8 Rokkor SRT100 Kangaroo Skin 1 by Nokton48, on Flickr

I've wanted this lens since I was a teenager and now I'm 63. This is the SRT vintage era lens as shown in the "Minolta System Handbook" by Joseph Cooper. I will use this lens primarily with MLU SRT's and it will be interesting to use on my motorized SRM's which also have MLU. This is a tripod only lens but delightful to look through. Very telescope like.
The SRT100 is something I bought new when I was in High School. I could not afford any other lenses, so I bought a 2X. This one is recovered with Cameraleather Green Kangaroo. With the TomA Softy. The black hairtie is my idea. Got tired on making pix inside the camera bag :/
Camera has SRT Diopter and SRT Rubber Eyecup. SRT Cable Releases work the best!
I see one Waterhouse stop and an ND filter? Thanks Kino.

I bought the lens from Kevin in Hong Kong, made him an offer he couldn't refuse.
Notice the SRT-era logo on the tripod platform. This lens is the same vintage as the SRT and hard to find. It's 80cm, later the Rokkor-X were designated 800mm. Serial number is correct as well; all original accessories are there, too. Also a silver wrench for changing the colored filters. The two waterhouse stops are part of the optical design, and one needs to be in place. The yellow filter I will prolly use all the time. My SRM's are 3.5FPS and have MLU.
Adox HR-50 is an improved Aviphot repackaging. It’s super pan, so it’s good with almost any kind of filtering. Both "waterhouse stops" have glass; one marked F8 and the other ND F11. Lens is designed to be used with a "stop" in the optical path, I'll wager.
Sorry but what is HR-50? Ive been shooting Pan-F, and Eastman movie film 5222 and now 5231. And some old ERA I'm using up for testing.
You could use 200 too of course it’s just quite a bit less fine grained and resolving in 135. And the speed difference once filtered through red or 720 nm filters is small.Hmmm HR-50 Looks interesting. I like Aviphot 200, I just some in 9x12cm and I've been using it in 70mm long roll.
Maybe the perspective of the photo is deceiving.?Minolta SRM 80cm F8 Rokkor SRM Release by Nokton48, on Flickr
The SRM is dusted off asnd losded with Ultra Duracells and 36exp ERA100 film. Testing the lens out in Key Day Direct Sun. 1/250 F8 and 1/125 F8 to give myself a choice. Notice the SRM Long Version Electronic Release; All this works very well in the cold outside moderate wind
I refocused after each shot, DOF non-existant. Got some cool donuts
Maybe the perspective of the photo is deceiving.?
I am no Camera/Lens expert
If i had to guess i would have said a 20-30 cm lens
Wow, nearest focus is 8 meters/ 26 feetHi CMoore,
It's very telescope-like. Here is the spec sheet from the "Minolta System Handbook"

Any particular reason why you used the SRM? Motor drive and no meter seems opposite the what one would want with a long tele.
