Hello people,

I bought an original Minolta P adapter. I had a 3rd party for some time. I read once that the edges from the 3rd party manufacturers aren't as good as on the "real" ones however I didn't see much difference I would've included images but its impossible to get a good view of the edges, the light from the metal is reflecting too much. Do you guys also have problems focusing and overall image when the lens is stopped down since the aperture release pin is always engaged?

thanks.

I've used Minolta and 3rd party models and they both work fine. How well they work really depends on the lens, as some lenses have more options/levers/settings than others. The lenses I have used can be focused wide open, and then stopped down for exposing. That can be a nuisance if you are not used to it, but I only use P lenses on a tripod -- so no problem.

Since you can usually get the same lens in a Minolta-mount, why mess with P-mount lenses? I only do for special macro lenses, etc.

As said above, use in your case only M42 auto-diaphragm lenses that got an auto-manual switch. By this you can use them as preset lenses.
