For the older manual cameras, I see an old chrome colored model with the old style lettering, then the later model which is all black . I'd like one for my SRT.

Pardon me for not being able to help.
Other members WILL.

I am asking because another member was wondering about angled finders and "Waist Level" shooting with a 35mm SLR.
So i am just curious, what will you be doing with the angle when you find the one you Need/Want.?

The newer one is called Angle Finder VN. I believe it fits all the manual focus Minolta SLRs and most of the Maxxum models.

Both models will fit your SRT

The Angle Finder VN is a nice little optic. One of the nicest of any I've seen for 35mm SLRs. It has 1X and 2X options.

Canon back then had two versions of the right-angle finder: one cheaper with mirrors, the other more expensive one with prisms. The mirror one gives a laterally reversed image compared to the original finder image, which spoils the inital benefit of an SLR prism finder, and lends it rather to still photography use.

Maybe it is the same for the Minolta right-angle finders.

Today all right-angle finders are prismatic.

Also no-name right-angle finders from the 70's existed in both, prism and mirror versions.
