This is a Minolta Multi Function Back which is designed to work with the Minolta X-700 film SLR. It has several functions such imprinting the exposures with data such as dates, and I think it can also control the X-700 body, to some extent at least, and perform other electronic miracles. This is about the extent of my knowledge. A free manual is available online on the Butkus site.
I placed four LR44 cells in this back, and it "comes alive", at least as far as the electronic screen goes, and responds to various button pushes. Based on this, I'd say it has a fighting chance of working correctly on an X-700 body, but I do not own one, so I cannot tell for sure. The back seems to have been lightly used, has no damage that I can see, and the battery compartment is clean.
Price: $50 plus shipping. Batteries are not included (but easily available)
