Five years ago I started a thread on Minolta manual focus teleconverters. Based on photos I had seen, teleconverters I had and the eazypix.de website, I thought the 2X Apo teleconverters, the 200-L and the 300-L were the same, at least optically. Mostly I have used the 300-S models. Today I bought 300-L from the auction site so I will finally have one of my own. I will probably use it with my 300/4.5 helical focusing Minolta lenses. I have read that the 300/4.5 IF lens is not good with teleconverters. I'll have to try that myself. I may try it with some Vivitar 400mm lenses too.

The 300-L arrived today and looks good. According to the eazypix.de website, there is an MD II version from 1980 and an MD III version from 1981. I can't tell which one I have.
