Just got one on of the Hi-Matic E on ebay in pristine condition.

However, trying to get the shutter to work has proven to be a problem.

First, i put in 2 LR44 (AG13) batteries - tested working at 1.5V , each one separately in one half of battery compartment and padded with tinfoil.

The film winding lever winds now, the shutter button presses down, the red Electro Control light on top lights up, the green light in the viewfinder blinks, but the actual shutter opens and closes fully only once every 10 shutter firings. The rest of the time is sort of jams up tighter to the center when the button is pressed down and returns to its normal closed position when I depress it.

Anyone knows what might be the problem?
