Minolta Hi-Matic AF2 Flash not working

Just picked up a Minolta Hi-Matic AF2 for 5 bucks. Had to clean out the battery compartment and afterward all worked well except that the flash will not charge or fire. Any ideas? Easy fix? Complicated fix?

A couple o' guesses.

bad switch, corroded wire, bad oscillator. That's assuming there's no whine or ready light when it's turned on.
With a whine but with ready light, Bad main cap, trigger cap, trigger coil, flash tube.
