I just found it in my closet, together with two 90 Type L. I couldn't remember it at all.

I probably won't be able to use the PM screen with my Minolta AF zooms because the split image indicator and microprism ring will darken due to the lower light intensity.

I'm surprised that the PM screen isn't available on eBay and the prices are obviously high from what I've found on the web. Is this a collector's item?

Manually focusing a first generation Minolta AF lens is no fun anyway because of the narrow adjustment rings with play.

Is the PM the solution here?

The PM screens aren't very common as they were of low demand , being an AF camera .
Used with larger aperture lenses they do help and sometimes is quicker to manually focus this camera than use AF !

Anyone looking for one of the screens need to be aware that most in the boxes are the standard type "G" ones .

The reason is when the PM screen is fitted to the camera , the standard type G screen is stored in the empty case .

Roll forward forty years when they get put on eBay , the camera and PM screen and the case with the G screen in gets parted and sold separately.

Buyer beware , always ask for confirmation and a decent photo to confirm it's the correct item before buying .

Unlike Nikon and Pentax Minolta and Canon AF had new mounts which means that using MF lens is not easy to use and not much in the way of demand. I have a G, or split screen for my 9000 that I use with my MF Sigma 600 reflex. Although Canon did make an adaptor for it long L glass MF lens not sure if they made a split image screen for the EOS 1.
