I took delivery today of a Minolta Slide Copier Close Up Adapter Ring Kit. The product code number is 8436-604. If you google the item you will see links to two eBay auctions. What is this kit actually for?

I've never seen one of those before. My first thought is "Do Minolta enlargers use round lens plates? I can't think of anything else it would fit.

Looks like a set of adapters that could be used to mount a variety of lenses to a bellows.

Doesn't the name give it away?

I have a lot of Minolta close-up equipment. This includes the full Auto Bellows III, system, the full Auto Bellows I system, all versions (I'm pretty sure) of the 100/4 Bellows lens, extension tubes, reversing rings and many other Bellows units which can be used with Minolta cameras. I don't see how any of this stuff works with the accessory I just got.

I saw a lens reversal adaptor that allow for a standard lens to be use as a copy lens by reversing it so the lens becomes a flat field lens. There is an adaptor that allow for a standard bellows to duplicate slides or transfer a transparency to a negative film.
