Hi everybody.
Just purchased a Minolta CLE.
What is a "safe" battery alternative I can buy in the USA?
Thank You

I'm pretty sure the CLE runs on the S76, 357 and probably a few other designations silver oxide cell that you can get an most grocery stores in the US.

Does the meter has to be recalibrated or any diodes installed?

The CLE was designed to be used with modern S76 silver oxide batteries.

The CL used old mercury style batteries. Some techs ( DAG for me ) can adjust the exposure meter to accept modern 1.5v battery.

Yep as others have said, it uses the standard silver oxide batteries available anywhere.

In case you didn't know, when you switch the CLE to manual mode, the metering turns off. It does not meter in manual, only in auto exposure mode. A weird choice that Minolta made, but there you have it.
