Other than the dim readout in the viewfinder the 9 is a really good camera, but, but, but, if I could time travel back about 10 years I would have gone with Canon EOS. Reason is that all call Canon EOS EF full frame lens will work on both film and digital bodies. I have a few Sony A mount lens that will only work on the Minolta 7, my 9 was not factory upgraded to work with SSM lens. I know that some have reported that a few 3rd party lens will not on Canon film, with so many really good used Canon lens on the market no need to troll for 3rd party lens. And if you are willing to send a EOS 1V to Canon Japan you can still it serviced. At this point no going back, my Minolta cameras overall deliver excellent results.
