Minolta Alpha-9 Dynax LED issues

So I traded my Nikon D700 for a Dynax and really love it. I think it is hands down the most ergonomic 35mm camera I've ever owned. The only issue is I cannot see the LED read outs in the VF in bright sunlight. They seem bright enough otherwise. Is this common or is there an issue with the camera itself?

Sadly the one major flaw, I looked to see if there is a setting to brighten the LED up, not so much, need to use the top panel when using in manual mode. One of the reasons I've taken to using my 800si more often in the summer.

800si here too, awesome camera. I also have Dynax 5 and my 7 has been shipped already. Talk about Minolta lunatic ..

Other than the dim readout in the viewfinder the 9 is a really good camera, but, but, but, if I could time travel back about 10 years I would have gone with Canon EOS. Reason is that all call Canon EOS EF full frame lens will work on both film and digital bodies. I have a few Sony A mount lens that will only work on the Minolta 7, my 9 was not factory upgraded to work with SSM lens. I know that some have reported that a few 3rd party lens will not on Canon film, with so many really good used Canon lens on the market no need to troll for 3rd party lens. And if you are willing to send a EOS 1V to Canon Japan you can still it serviced. At this point no going back, my Minolta cameras overall deliver excellent results.

So I take it the dim readout is normal - I remember when the camera when it came out the camera salesman in Omaha was showing it too me and raving about it. I thought it was really nice then but I was heavily invested in Nikon & Leica and couldn't see investing in another expensive camera system. Now it was free (trade) and with a 50mm & 28mm I all set. But how do I shoot in manual in bright sunlight when I can't see the LEDs on the right side of the VF?

Well, with my newer AF systems I don't shoot in manual all that much to begin with, and in bright light, I just keep in one of the auto exposure modes, my main stay is shutter priority.
