I may or may not have bought a very cheap 85 mm f/1.7 with fungus on the front element. This is the guide on the mflenses forum I will be following. I wanted to start this thread early, because I wanted to post the "before" images I made to make a more objective comparison.

Images taken with a Fujifilm X-E2 APS-C 24MP camera - I have no FF digital on hand to make test images with so this will just be evaluating center performance.

Original images are 4000x6000, but compressed so I can post them. I have no reliable way to test out-of-focus performance yet but I have some test images I could use. As they contain location info, I'll not be sharing them. Does anyone have some good ideas to create good reference images for a before and after cleaning dataset? I was mainly following the minolta.su - style images.

The main difference I expect is not in colour rendition or sharpness but in flare sensitivity. So a before and after comparison in controlled but challenging lighting would be interesting. Maybe photographing the colour chart under a lamp that is included in the picture.
