I have observed the following with my Minolta 7000 in M mode:
  • aperture set to any value,
  • shutter speed as well,
  • camera triggered,
  • aperture closes to the specified value,
  • after the shutter speed has elapsed the aperture closes to the smallest value for a tiny moment and opens.
Is this behavior (bold highlighting) a peculiarity of the A bayonet?

In terms of film exposure, this brief closing of the aperture to the smallest value should have no effect, since it obviously happens after the shutter is closed.

This does not seem to be the common error where the aperture always closes to the smallest value, no matter what value is set.

After you release the shutter
and the exposure has been
made. the diaphragm will stop
down fully before reopening.
The lock for the aperture
magnet is temporarily
disengaged as the gears rotate.

Just a normal function.
