This is a bit of a long shot but .. I am going to Minehead in England (near Bristol) for a music festival this weekend. I might bring a camera and pop out for an hour or two some afternoon.

Any good photographic locations around there? I will have access to a car but am unlikely to be in a fit condition to drive it - so won't want to travel too far. I suppose I am mostly thinking of old stuff - boats, churches, industrial stuff, interesting town centres - anything really, but not landscapes as I won't have a tripod.

Watchet is great. If it's running, you can get a steam train there from Minehead.

There's a fair amount you can photograph from the platforms too. Here are some of mine:

Thank you both ... really helpful. I like the sound of the steam train .... might see if I can squeeze it on.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to avoid getting arrested for taking photographs

Doniford Bay is also worth a visit if you have the time. It's the next stop along from Watchet and is a request stop only. You have to tell the guard that you want to get off there as you get on the train.
The station itself is quite picturesque as is the beach which is a very short walk away.
I stayed at a caravan park close to this station a couple of years ago.
