Rogovin was a social documentary photographer that specifically did in-depth studies of particular groups of people, mostly in Buffalo, all working-class.
I agree. With such a long career, you have to wonder why he didn't get more attention. But he never photographed celebrities and he didn't work as a photojournalist. And his photos weren't the type many people would hang over their sofa, either.
