These are viteman era, the Air Force used them in the early 70s. The one I used had 2 D5 with color heads, a water chiller, and really important AC.

2nd thread on this containerized darkroom.
Definitely something one would want to inspect in person.

26 year old equipment, and unknown how well it was stored. Could be a lot of frozen pipes and tanks.
Price is ridiculous, though there might be a few pieces of equipment inside that I could find a use for.
However, there is just way too much, newer darkroom equipment, on the market now to justify this price.

Good points Marc B. But what intrigues me is that to properly clean up, electrify and plumb my 120-year-old basement to make a good darkroom in-house would cost well over $5000. I could just park this thing in the yard! And don't deny the charm of owning such a 1960s answer to a problem we photojournalists now use a laptop and a Sixbuck's coffee house to solve.

I bought one of these from govliquidation.com, only $800.00, and am currently using it. Converting it into a plumbed and useable unit took some work but was really very easy. All kinds of military treasures in these things. If anybody has any questions about conversion, just ask.

Seems like a pretty good solution to me. If anyone buys it just to scrap it, that's a jerk move.

It's disappointing to throw away the work of the past.
