Might have ticket to Las Vegas

mgb74

I may have a last minute ticket to Las Vegas for middle of next week (3/12-15). Have no interest in casinos, but wondering what is worth visiting from a scenery standpoint. It looks like Tonopah is about 200 miles from Las Vegas, that's probably about as far as I'd want to go. What would you suggest in and around Tonopah, between LV and Tonopah, and within a couple of hundred miles of Las Vegas? Not sure if I want to stay in LV and drive, do a circuit, or camp. Death Valley also seems interesting.

Will probably keep things pretty simple: H'blad with 50, 80 and 150 (since that's all the lenses I have), tripod, meter and a p&s for backup. Sound reasonable?

Thanks.

Goldfield is good, about 30 40 miles south of Tonopah. And of course death Valley as you mentioned.
