Does anyone else affected by the photos of art sinsabaugh? He did a long book 6 MID-AMERICAN CHANTS - 11 MIDWEST PHOTOGRAPHS along with the poet Sherwood Anderson. These were 12 X 20 camera shots cropped down to Midwest proportions. The Art Institute of Chicago has a number of original prints in their collection.
I was very affected by these when I saw them in the late 60’s at the Center for Photography in Louisvile, Ky.
His photos of Chicago in a more normal format are less interesting to me but still a good statement on Chicago at the time.

I've never seen his original prints, although I'd like to. It seems that he was a pioneer in using the banquet-format cameras for landscape. Most of what I know about him was published in the book "Landscape: Theory", published by Ralph Gibson's Lustrum Press in the early 1980s.

I think you can see many of Sinsabaugh’s photos on the Art Institute of Chicago web site. The large book with the poetry is shown on ebay.
