microsync for the street

I recently came across this brand called microsync.
Thought it would be a good idea to put one of these on the leica and do some weird angle flash photography on the street, without a cable in between. But the reciever for this cute little thing is designed for studio equipment.Have you guys came across any other brand that's similar but suitable for any old portable flash.
